With a remarkable background and a strong passion for healthcare, Dr. Nuzhat Faruqui has dedicated her career to serving those in need and uplifting the lives of vulnerable communities. Dr. Nuzhat Faruqui’s professional journey began when she obtained her MBBS degree from Baqai Medical University, Karachi in 1995. She went on to specialize in Urology, achieving her FCPS (Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons) from Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi in 2005. In 2006, she further honed her expertise by completing her Fellowship in European Boards Urology (FEBU). With a commitment to advancing medical education, she also acquired an Advanced Diploma in Health Professions Education from Aga Khan University, Karachi in 2014. As a distinguished Urologist, Dr. Nuzhat Faruqui holds the prestigious position of Assistant Professor in the Urology Department at Aga Khan University Hospital. Her extensive knowledge and expertise in urological conditions have contributed to transforming the lives of countless patients. Driven by a deep sense of empathy and a desire to provide comprehensive healthcare to underserved populations, Dr. Nuzhat Faruqui founded ULPHAT (Unified Liaison for Promotion of Health and Advanced Treatment) in 2010. ULPHAT aims to assist in the curative treatment of complex pediatric diseases in resource-poor settings, ensuring that no child is left untreated. Under her leadership, ULPHAT has organized numerous free medical camps across the country, providing essential healthcare services to those who lack access to medical facilities. Additionally, Dr. Nuzhat Faruqui has played a pivotal role in coordinating complex urological surgeries for impoverished individuals in need. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to public health, Dr. Nuzhat Faruqui was honored with the prestigious “Tamgha-i-Imtiaz” award by the Government of Pakistan in 2018. Vice Admiral Shah Sohail Masood HI(M) (Retd)

Vice Admiral Shah Sohail Masood, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), has joined ULPHAT as its Patron-in-Chief. Over his distinguished career in the Pakistan Navy, he held a variety of command and staff appointments both in the field and at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.
A submariner by profession, the Admiral specialized in navigation. He holds a master’s degree in War Studies and completed the Armed Forces War Course at the National Defense University, Islamabad. In recognition of his outstanding services, he was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) by the President of Pakistan.
In addition to his role at ULPHAT, Vice Admiral Masood is actively involved in several social welfare organizations:
