In a remote village in Swat, Pakistan, a young boy became the catalyst for the establishment of ULPHAT. His parents, who had limited financial resources, were unable to afford the vital treatment he required to survive. Fortunately, they connected with a group of doctors who acted swiftly, and, with the help of a few friends, raised the necessary funds for the child’s surgical treatment within just an hour and a few text messages. Thanks to the dedication of these doctors, Najeeb received a life-saving heart surgery, which effectively closed the hole in his heart and allowed him to lead a normal and healthy life. The successful treatment of Najeeb served as the driving force behind the inception of ULPHAT, an organization committed to assisting other children like Najeeb who were in desperate need of critical medical care.
Taha
Taha was 3 years old boy when diagnosed with a complex heart, belonging to Karachi, from a humble background. His mother is a homemaker and his father is blind. They were very scared before the corrective surgery, Taha did very well MaShaAllah and after 8 years he is completely healthy.

This is Asif, we met his father in one of our camps. His father Mr. Hayat was unable to afford the expenses for his treatment. He had open heart surgery in 2021 at Liaquat National Hospital. His surgery was successful and he is perfectly healthy. He also went to ARY program and shared his story with everyone.

Hafz Ur Rehman
He went through open-heart surgery when he was 4 months old in May 2022. He belongs to a very religious family, and his father is a Mufti.
Afraz Faizan
Afraz is a 10-year-old boy with a disease called Hirschsprung (also called congenital aganglionic megacolon) that occurs when some of the baby’s intestinal nerve cells [ganglion cells] don’t develop properly, delaying the progression of stool through the intestines. He had that disease from birth but was diagnosed last year in June 2022. He went through 3 surgeries before, which were stoma surgery, fat removal surgery, and stoma reversal surgery, and now operated with Hirschsprung surgery. Now after some time, doctors will perform another reversal surgery, and he will be completely fine, hopefully.
Amarwanti
In 2010, during a medical camp set up for flood victims in a remote village in Pakistan, we encountered a 12-year-old girl who was suffering from a congenital heart disease known as tetralogy of Fallot. Her condition not only adversely affected her physical well-being but also posed challenges to her leading a normal life. Being in dire financial circumstances, her family, like many others living in poverty, couldn’t afford the costly medical treatment required for her survival. Fortunately, ULPHAT managed to secure the necessary funds for her surgery. Following the procedure, her health saw a remarkable improvement, enabling her to pursue her education. The family expressed their profound gratitude for the assistance they received from ULPHAT and the generous individuals who contributed to their daughter’s treatment. Over the years, Amarwanti has found happiness through marriage and has become a mother to a lovely baby girl.

Umar Ghulam, a 22-month-old baby warrior, from a humble family. He had a complex hole in the heart. He underwent the corrective surgery and did superbly well and has been sent home in a record 5 days’ time.
Amna Ali
12-year-old girl who had a road traffic accident and sustained a right humorous fracture, and it’s been 2 months that they were unable to have treatment because of non-availability of funds.
She was suffering from severe pain and disability. Her bone had mal-alignment. Underwent a corrective procedure and has done very well.

Zubair, a 1.5-year-old boy, resident of Ibrahim Hyderi, had congenital heart disease tetralogy of fallot (a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart). His operation was done successfully, and he is healthy now.

Muhammad Ibrar a 12-year-old boy with an atrial septal defect. He lives in Larkana, and his father is a school teacher. He required a cardiac surgical procedure, which was successfully done by our professional doctors.

This is Wania a 5-year-old girl who was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot. She underwent surgical procedures which were done well.

Naeema an 8-year-old girl with a hole in her heart since birth (Ventricular Septal Defect – VSD), which was affecting her heart valves. She got her surgery done on 3rd December 2012.

Bahadur Baloch, a 10-year-old boy resident of Faqeera Goth. He was diagnosed with a condition called “Tetralogy of Fallot” by birth. His corrective cardiac surgery was completed on 20th December 2012.

Zohaib a 7-year-old boy with a hole in the heart by birth, Atrial Septal Defect. His ASD device closure was performed on 28 Jan 2014.
Mujahid
Mujahid a 9-year-old boy with Ventricular Septal Defect and Pulmonary Stenosis. His father works in Sabzi Mandi and on daily wages. He has been gone through complete repair of his cardiac defect, and Masha ALLAH recovering well.
Habibullah Hazara
Habibullah Hazara a 3-month-old child with multiple holes in the heart (VSD, ASD, and PDA). His father is a laborer and works on daily wages. He has been through the complete surgical repair on 17th March 2014. Alhamdulillah he is improving very fast.

This is Saif Ullah, a 9-year-old boy from Kuchlak, Quetta, Balochistan. He belongs to a very humble background. Father has a cart. He had a large hole in his heart. He underwent successful repair and doing great now.
Huneiza Chand Ali
Huneiza Chand Ali a 13-year-old girl with a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot. Her father is a daily wage worker at a sewing pico shop in Paposh Nagar, Karachi. She went through her corrective surgery on 22nd May 2014.
Shahbaz Ali
Shahbaz Ali, an 8-year-old child, was brought to Karachi, where a CT scan revealed a mass. After undergoing surgical excision, it was diagnosed as lymphoma, and he has been treated accordingly.

Abdul Wahab Abid a 1.5-year-old boy with a congenital heart defect (VSD and PDA). His father works on a daily wage and lives in Lyari. He had his total correction on 19 May 2014.
Muhammad Tahir
Muhammad Tahir a 11-year-old boy with a congenital cardiac defect since birth, Ventricular Septal Defect with Pulmonary Artery Hypertension. His father died 8 years back and his mother bare all the finances to support the family. His surgical procedure went on 9th June 2014.
Irshad Bibi
Irshad Bibi, an 11-year-old girl with marked Right ventricular Hypertrophy and infundibular stenosis. She underwent surgical correction on 19th May 2014. She is a resident of Jacobabad, and her father died in 2010. She is doing great after her successful surgical procedure.

Zayyan a 1-month-old boy with congenital cardiac malformation DTGA, Coarctation of the Aorta, and PDA. He underwent Coarctation of aorta repair and PDA ligation on 10th June 2014.
Asiya
Asiya a 15-year-old girl with Severe Mitral valve regurgitation (heart valve defect). She has been through a surgical procedure 4 years back but was unsuccessful. She needed a heart valve replacement this time. She belongs to Damb, Balochistan. Her father is a farmer. We picked her up during our Damb’s medical camp. Her procedure was done on 10th July. MashaALLAH She is doing great and happy.
Mahad Lodhi
Mahad Lodhi a 4-year 2-month-old boy with a hole in the heart “Ventricular Septal Defect with Aortic Regurgitation”. His surgery was done on 15th August 2014.
Ayaan
Ayaan a 6-year-old boy with two holes in the heart by birth and an atrioventricular Septal Defect. He underwent surgical repair and post-surgery developed a heart block. He again underwent a “Permanent pacemaker” to run his heart. He is absolutely healthy after that heart surgical repair and heart battery.
Manala
Manala a 20-days-old, and has congenital pulmonary valve stenosis. She underwent atrial septostomy and balloon pulmonary valvotomy on her second day of life. She is getting healthier day by day.

Ghulam Haider Raza a 2-year-old boy with a hole in the heart by birth (VSD and PDA). His complete surgical correction was held on 23 August 2014.
Rohan
Rohan a 3-year-old boy with a hole in the heart (ASD) since birth. His procedure was held on 26 August 2014 and he is doing well now.
Hooriya
Hooriya a 1-year 8-month-old girl with a hole in the heart (Ventricular Septal Defect) by birth. She underwent complete surgical repair on 31 August 2014 and recovered well after her procedure.

Wajid Qadeer Kaihar a 1-year 3-month-old boy with two holes in his heart by birth (ASD, VSD). He underwent surgical correction on 08 sep2014 and recovered very well.
Chaitan
Chaitan, an 11-year-old boy with a congenital heart defect (TAPVR and ASD), underwent successful corrective surgery on September 15th, 2014. The procedure went smoothly, and he returned home happily.

Dawood Baloch a 15-day-old boy, had severe pulmonary valve stenosis (Severely closed heart valve) and PDA. He underwent device PDA closure and Balloon Valvuloplasty at 15 days of life. He is doing great post-procedure.
Fahad
This is Fahad, who had a complex heart condition called single ventricle. After six months of medical optimization, he underwent surgery three years ago, performed by a highly skilled surgeon from the UK. Fahad is now doing exceptionally well, attending school, and living a healthy life.

This is Danish, a 12-year-old boy from Azad Kashmir, who had a complex heart by birth and underwent corrective surgery in Lahore by our great Surgeon, Asim Khan.

Abiha
Baby Abiha was only nine months old when she was diagnosed with anal atresia, a rare congenital disease that necessitated immediate surgery. Abiha had a successful transanal pull-through procedure on April 4, 2024, which signaled the start of a happy and healthier existence.
